Chayna DeNicolo,
an AQHYA, LLQHA and IQHYA member, has started a Facebook page for young riders called : "Hoofbeats and Heartbeats" that is dedicated to youth reagrdless of what
discispline/breed they ride. This page reaches out to riders that have suffered equine related injuries from a first time fall off to broken bones-or those who've had a horse suffer/receive an unhealable injury and have to be put down or riders who just want to share memories of a special horse that touched their heart. Chayna was inspired to make this group as it is the worst feeling in the world to be alone, and people with common interests/edxperiences are never alone. Chayna faced two very diffcult challenges last year when first her show horse and best friend Bruno was diagnosed with an incurable navicualr bone fracture and within a week of getting that news she was kicked in the face by a young horse incurring near fatal injuries requiring 12 titanium plates and 6 screws in her head. Both incidents left Chayna in her own words "physically, mentally, and emotionally scarred" and encouraged her to turn her negative experiences into a positive by reaching out to others in the equine community she loves. The site is open to all and has over 1000 members at this time.
We are an association dedicated to the promotion of the Quarter Horse breed. Our purpose is to foster and spread interest in Quarter Horses, and to educate its members in riding, breeding, raising, training, and showing Quarter Horses in America.
While our association is headquartered in northern Illinois, we have members in Illinois, Wisconsin, Indiana, and Michigan.
